The 53rd Annual Los Gatos Children's Christmast and Holiday Parade was began on a brisk Saturday morning, December 5, 2009. The Parade is a great family event that captures the warmth of the holiday season each year with festive entries, musical wonders and plenty of cheer. Thousands of children participated — many in costume and holding or leading their pets, along with floats and marching bands, bringing enjoyment to the packed parade route down North Santa Cruz Avenue and across the Main Street Bridge.

The holiday spirit was shared by those on the crowded sidewalks. Right after the parade, the LGHS Marching Band performed some holiday tunes on the front lawn of Los Gatos High School, just prior to the Awards Ceremony. 1st and 2nd place awards for each category were presented. Note that award winners will also be published in the Los Gatos Weekly Times in Wednesday, December 16th's edition.

The event was made possible by the work of dozens of dedicated volunteers representing local service clubs and organizations. The Annual Children's Christmas/Holidays Parade is sponsored by the Los Gatos Lions Club & LGS Recreation, in cooperation with the Town of Los Gatos and Los Gatos High School.
