Come spend a day with me at the 16th Annual Comcast San Jose Jazz Festival. We'll take a walk around downtown and check out the sights on this sunny Saturday, the 13th of August. So put on your walking shoes and let's begin the tour ...

  1. We arrive to start the day at the Main Stage to hear San Jose's Musician's Warehouse Big Band and their very special guest, Louis Bellson, a drumming legend.

  2. Next we make our way to the Big Band Stage to hear the lively sounds of the Villages Swing Band.

  3. Making our way between the venues, we check out some of the other sights of San Jose, including the superb Arts & Crafts area. We catch the last part of sax player's Michael Zilber's set at the indoor Smith Dobson Tribute Stage, then grab a Snapple at Peggy Sue's next door.

  4. We now head back to the Big Band Stage to listen to the sweet sounds of Christine Ferrari's Swing Society.  [my apologies, previously was erroneously identified as another band due to error in program listing.]

  5. Let's head south of the border to take in a little latin at the Salsa Stage. Performing is Eric Rangel y su Orquestra America.

  6. Then we return to the Main Stage to catch a few tunes from Eddie Palmieri's combo. But boy it's crowded here. A popular venue.

  7. So we decide to end the day at the Blues & BBQ Stage and sway to the show put on by the Bay Bridge Blues All-Stars with Johnny Smith.

Getting dark now. A long but rewarding day at the jazz festival!
